Beating them in what seems to be overwhelming numbers goes beyond any single tactic, no matter how efficient. To be most effective in fighting hordes of Raiders you should implement a layered defense. ![]() ALWAYS take the time to direct your Vipers to specific targets based on threat priority. Sometimes they are given their first target, but then are allowed to roam around freely, sometimes allowing them to attack a Cerastes or other Cylon ship that will eat them for breakfast. Of course the use of Debris Mines, Sweeper chaff, flak and other means mentioned above are excellent tactics, but in my experience I have found that too many players make a big mistake by using their Vipers to go after the wrong targets resulting in premature destruction. Let your battlestar flak and PDCs kill the Heavy Raiders as well as any Vespid bombers. Yes, it will require micromanaging, but you must use your Viper squadrons efficiently and give them specific targets on each turn - or as they destroy one target and are ready to move on the next one.Īlways use your Vipers to attack Wardrivers and Raiders first and then the Raider prototype. Other than making sure you go into battle with as many Vipers as possible, don't waste them by attacking Heavy Raiders when you have Raiders, Prototype Raiders and Wardrivers inbound. ![]() One of the best ways to fight hordes of Raiders goes beyond the use of ships, which is good, but it does not end there. ![]()
